On the 12th September 1908 Ferran Agulló first described the Catalan coast line north of Blanes up to the French border as the Costa Brava, one hundred years ago the wild coast came into being.
It is a beautiful coast - I love the train journey from Perpignan, along the Côte Vermeille in French Catalunya and then the Costa Brava, through tunnels and then out into small rocky bays, before the line goes inland towards Figueres.
