Tiger Mosquito

TEuropean scientists are trying out a new tactic in an attempt to stop the spread of the Tiger Mosquito. Following hatching of the mosquito larvae in laboratory conditions, male and female insects are separated. Male mosquitoes are then subjected to heat in an oven, a process which renders them infertile. The males are released to breed with mosquitoes in the wild thereby preventing the females from producing viable eggs.
