Berberis

  1. Stunning photo. Do you know the species and/or variety of the berberis?

I'd love to know more about your escape to Spain. What region are you in, or which archived blog would tell me more?

  2. Thank you - Berberis Darwinii it is an easily grown dhrub on all soils including heavy clay. At its best around 8' it can be clipped hard. As well as a mass of flowers the shrub produces purple berries and autumn leaf colour.

We are near Figueres on the Mediterranean side 20 miles south of the French border. If you follow the link to Spain Villa there is an explanation of how we got here (start in 2004)
