The lonely almond tree

This is our solitary almond tree, although young it has survived last years drought. 

It did flower but did not set fruit.

Obviously a young plant trying to establish itself during the ongoing drought.

We were told that our land was cleared of fruit trees some years ago it does seem a waste to fell trees from the landscape.
